What happens after I file a report of illegal software use?

The process is simple. Just fill out this confidential three step piracy reporting form with as much information as you can recall and submit it to BSA. Our investigative team will follow up with you as appropriate and begin their investigation of the target company. Based on your information and our investigation, BSA will then pursue the action that we feel is warranted.

What is the progress of my piracy report?

To learn the progress of your report, we ask that you please e-mail us at bsa_au@bsa.org. A Business Software Alliance team member will provide you with the latest information. Please note that the investigative process is very thorough and can take several months for significant developments.

How do you calculate rewards for reporting illegal use of software?

A reward may be payable only if BSA pursues an investigation and, as a direct result of the information provided by you, receives a monetary settlement from the reported organization. The amount you may receive is based on a sliding scale as outlined in the Terms and Conditions available on the BSA website.

When will I receive my reward for reporting pirated software?

You will receive an email reply from BSA soon after submitting your anti-piracy report. In addition, a BSA team member may reach out to you over the next 72 hours if we have any further questions regarding the information provided within your report.
